GSoC 2020 Student Blog URLs

All accepted GSoC 2020 students are required to post at least one blog entry every week during GSoC . Start now so you get in the habit of writing a post every week!

You don’t have to create a new blog for GSoC; it’s even better to use an existing one, if you have something appropriate already. You can use any traditional blog service that you wish, or you can host your own. I strongly encourage you to create a category or tag for your LibreHealth posts. Just make sure it has an RSS feed available that can show your LibreHealth/GSoC posts.

Some free-of-charge ideas for blogging platforms, if you don’t have one yet:

  • Wordpress (open source/PHP, self-hosted or hosted)
  • Ghost (open source/Node.js, self-hosted or hosted)
  • Blogger (proprietary/hosted)
  • Jekyll (open source/Ruby, self-hosted or GitHub hosted)
  • Hugo (open source/Go, self-hosted or Github hosted)
  • Hexo (open source/Node.js, self-hosted or GitHub hosted)

@gsoc2020students,

This task is due by 2020-05-08T23:59:00Z.

Reminder that in order to remain in good standing, you must complete all tasks outlined in https://forums.librehealth.io/t/congratulations-our-accepted-students-for-gsoc-2020/3680/12

@r0bby does the weeklyreport have to be submitted in the forum or is it ok if it’s part of the blog?

it’s a separate thing.

So, what should the blog contain?

The weekly report is short bulletpoints, your blog should detail those bulletpoints. Your blogpost could go into greater detail. The main reason I have the weekly report is we failed both our students last year and want to catch problems early.

Your mentor will be submitted a similar report weekly

Got it. Is it ok if our blog is informal ?

It should be about your project. Just blogging random things is not okay. The point is that others can learn what you’re doing.
