Potential GSoC Student Meet & Greet

Good day everyone:

I’m Besmire Thaqi and I come from a little country from Europe called Kosovo. I’m currently in the last year of my studies in the “Software Design” pattern, Computer Science faculty at University of Prizren. My GPA is 9.5/10 and including three years I have learned about programming languages like: Java, PHP, Python, Matlab, C#. Also I am familiar with HTML, CSS, JS, MySQL, SQL Server. I used to work as an IT Support the last summer in a german bank called “ProCredit Bank” in the department of IT, and besides projects during faculty, I have worked in about four other projects in web development. I would really like to be a part of you during this summer because it would mean a lot to my career, and I would try my best to be very helpful.

Hi, I am Swornim Baral studying Computer Science in Cameron University. I am interested in software development and learning new technology. I am more than interested to contribute on this project by Libre health.

Hello Everyone,

I am Garvit Khamesra, a 3rd year information technology student at SRM University in chennai. I want to join in the GSoC 2017 and I am interested on the web component of librehealth toolkit. I am currently working with python and I think it will be best suited for the Web Component if we want it to get smarter or to make it smarter. Best Regards, Garvit Khamesra

I have a good knowledge of languages like C,Python and Javascript. I have also worked with popular frameworks like NodeJs.

I want to work with LibreHealth this summer but I have no idea on how to get started for that. Can you tell me what I need to do?

Hello! I wasn’t sure whether or not to create a new topic but I figured I’d post my introduction here.

My name is Mustafa and I’m a CS student and I study at the University Of Wisconsin. Being a former EMT, I have experience with EMR systems and have used one in the field. Most of my experience is in Java, which I noticed is a requirement in your Radiology projects. I feel like LibreHealth would be a great project to work on and expand my skill-set!

Hi, I am Gaston Che, a final year computer engineering student from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the University of Buea,Cameroon, specialising in software engineering. I am interested in working with librehealth. This is my first time of coming accross librehealth( from the GSOC Organisation list), but i like the vision of the communtiy and would love to get started as soon as possible and get my hands dirty. Please i need some directions on how to get started.

Hi, I’m new to Libre Health. I’ve previous open-source experience with Mozilla. I’m good with C++,Java, python. Can you suggest me how to start? btw Do we have an IRC channel or IM platform?

You can find the Rocket Chat link on the main LibreHealth.io page. Welcome aboard!

Hello!

My name is Sudha Chauhan, sophomore at Indian Institute of Technology, Patna. I’ve been continuously learning and developing web applications and sites for the past 18 months. I’ve good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, PHP and MySQL. I really want to work for the project "Create web components for Librehealth toolkit " . I would be really happy if I could get any guidance for a good start for this project and requirements. Thank you.

Hello Sudha! Welcome Aboard! Expect to see plenty of resources for getting started clearly posted soon. The ToolKit projects may require some experience with JAVA, but I expect that you will get some better advice on that shortly. In whichever case, it will probably be working with an API from the Java components. Some of the other projects here are PHP based, and you could look into those if the toolkit web components require technologies you don’t feel comfortable with. Would some Toolkit folks please chime in on this?

Thanks for the feedback  . Where can I find the repo of these projects, so that I can look into the code?

Most simply put, go to https://librehealth.io and look under “Projects”. This will link you to all of the repos for the various projects. The Toolkit stuff is primarily hosted on GitLAB, and the EHR stuff is hosted on GitHUB with mirrors in each direction. Happy exploring, and I am sure you can find something in all that you can sink your teeth into! Please join the chat (which you can also find off of the main page) and ask the mentors here for more advice or explanations. These folks are great, I can tell you. Welcome to Team Libre!
