The EHR group could use a testing suite. The current code base is in need of major changes to accomplish this. We would propose taking a smaller module and working with it, to gain familiarity wit the tools and the process. The module of choice is the Patient Portal. It is not heavily intertwined with the main code base and can be worked on as a separate project and then added back to the main code base. Moving the portal to a Laravel frame work would make the integration of the testing module much simpler.
Our estimate for completion of this process is 400 hours. This is broken down as 250 hours to port the portal to Laravel and 150 hours to integrate the unit testing.
from me – this is a good undertaking
