I noticed that Apple just released a health record API so patients can theoretically access data in their EHR records via their iPhone. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2018/06/apple-opens-health-records-api-to-developers/

Is this of any value to the project?

Yes, they do this using a FHIR profile from what I recall. It should be quite easy to exchange data if we can build the FHIR server and support their profile.

This blurb does a good job of presenting the possible challenges of giving patient’s access to their record. With pervasive patient portals and OpenNotes this might not be as important as it once was
