Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.servlet.ServletRegistration

I upgraded the spring version in toolkit because radiology needed a class that was not in the current spring version used by toolkit. Built toolkit and all tests pass. I installed the snapshot version to local maven repo and changed the openmrs version in radiology to 2.1.0-SNAPSHOT. Now building radiology while ignoring the tests passes but running the tests fail with this error

@ivange94, can you test if this change fixes things?

Thanks @sunbiz that indeed fixed the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError. But I’m having a new error which I’m looking into and will have fixed soon.

I fixed the other error I was having. I just had to upgrade the webservices dependency to the latest version. And now radiology builds fine on toolkit 2.1.0-SNAPSHOT.

I will not continue with the setting up of fhir server in radiology.

Thanks.

Btw, the error that I was having that needed me to upgrade to latest webservices module was that tests were failing with this exception org.openmrs.api.APIException: Unknown resource: class org.openmrs.Provider. This happened when this line was executed inside tests https://gitlab.com/librehealth/lh-radiology/blob/master/omod/src/main/java/org/openmrs/module/radiology/report/web/search/RadiologyReportSearchHandler.java#L101-103 but upgrading webservices module to 2.19.0 which is the latest release version fixed the error.

Thanks.

NoClassDefFoundError in Java comes when Java Virtual Machine is not able to find a particular class at runtime which was available at compile time. After you compile your code, you end up with .class files for each class in your program. These binary files are the bytecode that Java interprets to execute your program. The NoClassDefFoundError indicates that the classloader (in this case java.net.URLClassLoader), which is responsible for dynamically loading classes, cannot find the .class file for the class that you’re trying to use.

NoClassDefFoundError can occur for multiple reasons like

  • ClassNotFoundException – .class not found for that referenced class irrespective of whether it is available at compile time or not(i.e base/child class).
  • Class file located, but Exception raised while initializing static variables
  • Class file located, Exception raised while initializing static blocks
